Feedback from residents and their families about our new residential facilities in our Sydney Region has been very pleasing to hear. The families at Tremar House have expressed deep appreciation to our staff and management teams and applauded The Disability Trust for developing such a positive culture within the home.
At the new units in Loftus residents are extremely proud of their units and are delighted to explain that the common areas are also part of their home. “This is part of our place too and we can come here any time”, they say.
Through a partnership with St George Community Housing and families of the Sutherland Shire Accommodation Action Group, we also opened some units in Caringbah which represents considerable work undertaken by families in the region over a long period and is a credit to their advocacy efforts.
At another recent residential facility in Bass Hill positive interactions between the staff and residents and the caring approach taken to their relatively recent transition from metro residences has been a great accomplishment for staff and clients alike.
